Benriach Curiositas Peated 10 Year Single Malt Scotch Whiskey

In the early 1970s, BenRiach made a pioneering decision to revive the old 19th-century style of whisky production by reintroducing malted barley smoked with Highland peat. This bold move challenged the convention in Speyside, a region renowned for its unpeated whiskies. The wood-rich Highland peat used by BenRiach is sourced from the fertile landscapes of the region, imparting distinctively sweet and smoky campfire notes to our whisky.

For over four decades, BenRiach has quietly matured its peated spirit in traditional earthen-floored dunnage warehouses, using a diverse selection of carefully chosen casks. Historical research indicates that BenRiach was the first distillery in Speyside to reintroduce peated malt into whisky production. This pioneering step has positioned us to hold some of the oldest maturing peated whiskies in the region, offering a unique opportunity for whisky enthusiasts to explore a new dimension of smoky single malt whisky.
